Living My Best Life

The Whine-Wine Blog

Because every rant, rave or whine goes down better with a great glass of wine!!

Ok, so it’s getting to that time of year where you start assessing what you’ve accomplished over the past year. Well, at least it is for me. I know I’m kind of a nerd, I do my assessments early. Anywho, the end of the year has you assessing what went well and what didn’t. While doing this I’ve found two fundamental truths about myself. One, my truth: “my softness is my strength. Two, I need to do a better job of walking in my truth.

I want to tell you about a little book I read that helped me hone in on my truths and helped me realize I wasn’t living my best life. The book was called “Live Your Truth” by Kamal Ravikant. It’s an easy read if you want to pick it up. Only 125 pages. It took me two weeks to read because it made me stop and intently reflect on my life. There were so many interesting nuggets in the book that I had to stop reading and chew on them overnight. However, the following are passages from the book really resonated with me regarding individual truths:

• “When something comes from within, when it is a part of you, you have no choice but to live it, to express it. That’s when you become, well, awesome”.

• “Your truth is the core lesson. The guiding star. Knowing it will naturally help you with your decisions, the paths you choose to take. That’s the practical application of your knowledge”.

• “The magic is that as we live our truth, life does seem to calm down as if that’s all it needed from us anyway. To be our real selves”.

What this book showed me is that my truth is my own and that truth will unlock doors for me. My truth as I revealed last week is my softness, my compassion for my fellow human beings. I know now that God put that in me to thrive as well as help others.

Another thing I learned was living your truth is freedom. It allows you to live life on your terms. No one can tear you down when you know what you stand for and you know without a doubt you are living in your purpose and walking out your truth.

People, it is so important to be who you were put on this earth to be. Stop letting other people dictate who you are and what you should be. It’s your God-given right to be you. So, go out and live your best life!!!

Until next time, enjoy the journey!
