One of my favorite shows last year was New Amsterdam. In the pilot, the main character Dr. Max Goodwin became the new medical director. His job was to tear down the hospital's bureaucracy and provide exceptional care. His favorite phrase was, "How can I help?" It was refreshing to see, even though this is a fictional character, someone placing people and their needs above bureaucracy and making a profit.
I love that phrase. I believe that's what we need in this country – more how can I help! We are in a pandemic. We have people who lost their jobs, lost a loved one, or lost their homes. We don't need any more negativity or divisiveness.
